Narain Karthikeyan became the first Indian F1 driver when he signed to drive for the Jordan F1 team in 2005, he also tested for the Williams F1 team in 2006 and 2007.

He scored only 5 points during his only season including a fourth in the controversial US Grand Prix, where only six Bridgestone-supplied chassis started (Michelin-supplied chassis were pulled out due to a safety risk).
