In regards to defense, comparing Mark Teixeira and Alex Rodriguez is a bit like comparing apples to Oranges simply because they play very different positions. I think it is safe to say that each is very, very good at his position. In regards to offense, it's incredibly hard to make a distinction there since Rodriguez has 18 years as a professional to Teixeira's 9 years as a professional. Both have incredible numbers and each has received quite a few awards for his contributions to the game but in order to make a good comparison, the playing field needs to be a little more even (basically, give Teixeira a few more years and see how his numbers do in comparison to Rodriguez' numbers).
