Ron Vlaar (born February 16, 1985 in Hensbroek) is a Dutch footballer who as of February 2014 plays as a centre-back for Aston Villa.
Vlaar started his professional career in 2004 for AZ, before moving to Feijenoord in 2006. He moved to Aston Villa in 2012, where he was soon named captain of the team, in the continued absence of Stilian Petrov.
Vlaar has played at senior level for the Netherlands since 2005, making over 20 full international caps.
