Ezra Sutton was an MLB Baseball player who is credited with hitting the first home run in MLB history. This occurred in 1871, the first season of the National Association which was the first 'major' professional baseball league in U.S. history.

Sutton played 5 seasons in the National Association (1871-1875) and, after the NA disbanded, played another 13 seasons (1876-1888) in the National League. He is credited with having hit 25 career home runs and having a career batting average of .294.
