Bill Nichols (William Ramsey Nichols) is an award winning sports writer for the Dallas Morning News, currently covering Professional Golf with a weekly column on Thursdays. He is a 1976 graduate of Richardson High School, and a 1981 graduate of the San Francisco State University. Bill worked for the Dallas Times Herald from 1981 through the folding of the paper in 1991. He moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to work for the Winston-Salem Journal and covered College Basketball. Bill moved on from North Carolina to Austin, Texas in 1994 to work for the Dallas Morning News and cover University of Texas sports. He then moved back home to Dallas to continue working for the Dallas Morning News and cover the Dallas Stars. He watched the Dallas Stars bring home the Stanley cup in 1999 and then left coverage of Hockey for his current tenure covering Professional Golf. He resides in Dallas with his wife of 19 years, Sarah and 3 daughters, Taylor, Jamie and Hannah.
