Brian Clough (the legendary manager) scored 257 goals in 271 games (although this includes cup games and i am not sure if his whole career was in top flight) i think this has to be one of the greatest ratios post war and possibly ever. If his career hadn't been ended early he may even have imporved up it. Legendary Manager but even better Striker - if he wasnt such a great manager people might know more about his scoring record
