Dodger Stadium was financed primarily through private funds raised by the Los Angeles Dodgers organization, specifically by team owner Walter O'Malley. The construction of the stadium, which began in 1959 and was completed in 1962, also benefited from public funding in the form of city-owned land and infrastructure improvements. Ultimately, the investment was intended to enhance the Dodgers' profitability and secure their future in Los Angeles.
It's just Dodger Stadium (as of 2009 the naming rights to the stadium have never been sold, although there is talk of that happening sometime in the near future). It's one of only 7 current MLB parks that are 100% privately owned by the teams that play in them (and one of an even smaller list that was not originally financed with public funds).
