Other former Oriole players in the Hall of Fame inducted as members of a different team are Luis Aparicio, Reggie Jackson, George Kell, Robin Roberts, Hoyt Wilhelm and Dick Williams. Wee Willie Keeler also played for the Baltimore Orioles.

As far as the baseball players who have influenced Cal Ripken Jr., I would have to say that great players from his childhood such as Nolan Ryan and Hank Aaron would have had great influences on him. Also, aside from the players, his father, Cal Ripken Sr. who was the manager of the Orioles for a long time, surely was a strong influence on his son who played for the Orioles.
