Well, it depends on who your asking. That question is really an opinion. Cheering looks fun and peppy, but marching band is cool too. But its still an opinunated question.
To get a marching band cape, you have to be a marching band drum major. A drum major is like the captain of the band and to signify so, they wear capes with their uniforms. I'm not sure where you could buy one if that's what you're looking for.
Here is one... The audience were cheering for the favorite band.
Yes, FSU has one of the largest marching bands in the world and also have good talents in music.
Try out for it, if you're good enough, they let you in
It depends on how much your marching band does, whether you only perform at football games every other week or whether your school does field shows and have a competition every weekend. It also depends on your school's marching band reputation. Colleges usually would know that marching band takes up a lot of time and they'll take that into consideration. It'll look even better if you continued to stick with marching throughout your four years in high school and you are/were drum major, section leader, captain, etc. This shows that you're involved in leadership and that you're commited to marching band, not just being in it. Whether your school's marching band is a small one or a big one with a good reputation, colleges definitely would like it if you stuck to it and how involved you are with it. Overall, it isn't the fact that you are in marching band versus something like basketball or NHS. The colleges like to see that you have the deteremination to stick with something. If marching band is something that you want to do, go for it.
The famous rock band is the Dave Matthews Band. Ants Marching is one of their most popular songs and was written in 1994. The band was put together in the early 90's and is still present today.
This is technically not an answer to your question, but I want to clarify something. Bigger does not always mean better. As far as judged competitions, etc., the larger band will probably rank higher for only one reason, with a bigger band, mistakes are much less noticeable. But it also means that they are at a disadvantage. With more people, it is also much more difficult to work as one force, which is the very thing that makes a good marching band a good marching band. Besides, it's not the size, it's how you use it... All things considered, the University of Michigan and the University of Notre Dame Marching Bands seem to be the best. They can be found in Ann Arbor, Michigan and South Bend, Indiana
