It's Hard to be Humble - Mac Davis
my thought would be to work hard and practice nearly everyday and try your best to have a pro see you at work and if the pro like it then maybe you can become a successful sportsman.

He worked hard, day and night. He practiced and practiced and most of all he believed in himself. That's how he achieved. (By the way he never asked someone how did other sportsman achieve great success in life.)
The common misconception is that Mac Davis wrote it however, it was a popular folk song in Ireland before he made it famous. In Ireland however it was sung much faster!
To become famous for singing, it takes a lot of hard work, dedication, and patience. Many, many, many peole have great voices and never make it anywhere. A great voice does not guarantee fame.
