As of October 2023, there have been several instances of brothers playing on opposite sides in rugby union internationals. Notably, the most famous example is the clash between the All Blacks' Beauden Barrett and the Wallabies' Scott Barrett during the Bledisloe Cup. In total, there have been around 20 instances of brothers competing against each other in international rugby matches across various nations.
