Below is a list of cities (or states) that have baseball teams in alphabetical order followed by the team name.
There are 3 cities with 2 MLB teams each. Chicago has the Cubs and the White Sox, Los Angeles has the Dodgers and the Angeles of Anaheim, and New York has the Yankees and the Mets. The Angeles were initially founded in 1961 within the city of Los Angeles and moved to Anaheim (still within Los Angeles metro) in 1966. In addition to these three cities, two other metro areas have multiple teams, although each team is based in a distinct city of its own: Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals; San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics. Also of note, the city of New York actually had 3 MLB teams until 1958: the New York Yankees, the New York Giants (moved to San Francisco) and the Brooklyn Dodgers (moved to Los Angeles).
