They went 14-2. The only losses were to the Los Angelos Rams and Houston Oilers. They beat the Oilers in the AFC championship game and went on to beat the Cowboys in the superbowl

All four lost.
In 1995 the emergency Quarterback rule changed to allow the 3rd string Quarterback to come into the game during the 4th Quarter, regardless if the other Quarterbacks were able to play. The AFC Championship game for the 1986-1987 season went into overtime. IN that game, the Denver Broncos defeated the Cleveland Browns in Cleveland, 23-20 for the win.
In 2001 the Nebraska football team did not even make the Big Twelve championship game after losing to Colorado 62-36 in the final contest of the regular season and still went on to play in the national championship. Nebraska lost 37-14 against Miami in the national championship.
USC went to the championship game for the 2004 and 2005 seasons, winning in 2004 and losing in 2005, and Oregon for the 2010 season.
