Billy Martin Billy and Mickey were taking a breather as the New York Yankees were scheduled to play exposition games in Japan. Hawaii was a stop over.

On the beach alone with Billy, Mickey made the mistake of renting a surfboard. Mickey could not swim but ventured out to the ocean with Billy. Mickey lost his hold on the surfboard in deep water. Billy came to Mickey and pulled him to safety.
