Lake Lloyd
Lake Lloyd, located in Daytona Beach, Florida, has an average depth of approximately 9 feet. However, the depth can vary depending on factors such as rainfall and water levels. The lake was originally excavated in 1958 to create a water source for fire protection at the Daytona International Speedway and is primarily used for recreational purposes.
The track's 180-acre infield includes the 29-acre Lake Lloyd which has hosted powerboat racing.
Lake Lloyd was created when a hole was dug in the infield to use the dirt to build up the banking of the track. Because Florida has such a low elevation and high water table, the hole filled with water.
There is about 74 miles between Lake Buena Vista, Florida and Daytona Beach, Florida. It would take about an hour an a half to drive from Buena Vista to Daytona.
