As of Super Bowl XLII, that would be Joe Montana of the San Francisco 49ers who threw 36 passes in Super Bowl XXIII against the Cincinnati Bengals without an interception. Additionally, Montana never threw an interception in the four Super Bowls he played in. He threw 122 total passes in the four Super Bowl games without throwing an intereption. Drew Brees broke Joe Montana's record in Super Bowl 44 as he threw 39 passes without an interception.
In Super Bowl XLII on February 3, 2008, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady completed 28 passes in 48 attempts without an interception. But the Patriots lost the Super Bowl to the New York Giants, 17-14.
That quarterback would suck. he would definitely be 2nd or 3rd string. most likely 3rd and NFL.COM probably doesnt even know. If you were talking in terms of starters there was no starting quarterback who started more than 4 games without throwing a touchdown.

No NFL starting QB has played the entire season without throwing an interception. The closest was Damon Huard of the 2006 Kansas City Chiefs who played in 10 games, starting 8 and threw 1 interception in 244 pass attempts. The most passes attempted by a QB in an NFL season without an interception is 127 by Paul Justin of the 1996 Indianapolis Colts. He played in 8 games, starting 2. Bernie Kosar of the 1990 and 1991 Cleveland Browns holds the NFL record with 308 consecutive passes without an interception. The streak started in Game 14 of the 1990 season and ended in Game 10 of the 1991 season.
Ed Reed of the Baltimore Ravens has the record for the longest interception return. It was 108 yards. Against the Eagles, on November 28, 2008. Isn't it ironic? For one team to The Weapon X on their team as a free safety and the other teams free safety have a record braking interception?? But anyway, he also had a 106 yard interception against the Cleavland Browns.
Joe Namath of the New York Jets in Super Bowl III.
Bernie Kosar 308 (this is not the answer. Kosar had the most ATTEMPTS without an interception, not the most completions. And Tom Brady broke this record on 12/26/2010) His bio on steelers.com claims that Charlie Batch had 145 consecutive completions without an interception when he was with the Detroit Lions. Given that Tom Brady's current record for pass ATTEMPTS without an interception is in the 300's (as of 12/27/10), 145 completions sounds as if it would be close to the record. I don't know if it is the actual record, though. Can anyone find a QB with more?
Yes. It has happened many times across all divisions. Some teams, even today, rarely throw the football (Navy, Army), and some quarterbacks play only as back-ups or reserves (as opposed to starting quarterbacks or those with 400+ pass attempts).Technically speaking, a back-up quarterback with just one pass attempts on the season that was not intercepted would be included on any list of quarterbacks without an interception unless that list specifies a minimum number of pass attempts.
