I would say the most popular sport is Hockey.
There really is no official list of the most popular sports but I would say hockey is not the third most popular sport in the world. Baseball, basketball, football , and soccer are all more popular but i would say hockey is close behind.
Different people have different views of favourite sports but i would have to say: Football, Rugby, Cricket, Golf and swimming
It would be Hockey
It would be impossible to say how many sports exactly are played in the USA. Professionally, baseball, basketball, American football, and hockey are popular. Bowling is a very popular participant sport.
Ice hockey has to do with winter sports, since it requires ice. Also, since ice hockey is usually played in winter, not summer, it would fit better in winter sports than in summer sports.

Football is probably the most popular but cricket, rugby, lacrosse and golf are popular. Personally, as a non-sports fan, I would say that lacrosse doesn't feature on the news coverage, but swimming, netball, and hockey (field hockey to Americsans) often do, as well as football and rugby and cricket and golf.
the most popular winter sport would probably be hockey.
Almost half of any given population is female, so that automatically gives a big bonus to the popularity of women's sports. Additionally, many make good spectator sports too, so many others who would not normally like them simply for personal involvement can enjoy them as a spectacle.
Some of the more popular sports, depending on which country you're from, would include American football, football (soccer), baseball, basketball, rugby, ice hockey, Australian rules football. Even though some sports are not very popular, it really comes down to where you live. For example, take auto racing, NASCAR is popular in the United States, but Formula One is more popular outside the US.
I think it was hockey
