Taekwondo really is practiced all around the world, but its a Korean martial art.
Taekwondo is also (last time I checked) the most popular martial art in the United States. People hate on it a lot because Taekwondo has become very "sporty art instead of a traditional art." Yes, it was put into the Olympics, and yes the sparring they use doesn't score punches all that often which is a large part of fighting, but getting kicked by a TKD practioner who knows what he is doing hurts.
