whats a poor sailor?
where do poor sailors sometimes go
They were poor.
That's just what powerful governments do to poor citizens. -Just like the USA made thousands of poor or ill educated Americans go to Vietnam while the rich and well educated remained in US.
Why Sailors Go Wrong - 1928 was released on: USA: 25 March 1928
Sailors on ships historically used a variety of methods to relieve themselves, often depending on the type of vessel and its facilities. Smaller ships might have had a designated spot at the stern or a "head" over the side, where they could go overboard. Larger ships typically had a more structured toilet area, sometimes referred to as a "heads," which was a small compartment with a seat that emptied directly into the sea. Privacy was limited, and sailors often had to be resourceful and discreet in managing their needs.
My best guess is that it references the poor manners of sailors (to curse like a sailor). The quarterdeck is part of an old sailing ship, and sailors (usually all male) where not known for their gentlemanly behaviour.
The sword often used by sailors is a cutlass, a curved sword.
On a ship, the deck is the top level, that is exposed to the sun, rain, wind, etc. To go below is to go down to a lower level where the deck becomes the ceiling. For sailors, to go below often means to go to the area where they sleep.
NOT VERY OFTEN. The majority of them (men and women) in the UK are all fat knackers
The invention that helped sailors steer without seeing the sun or stars is the compass. Compasses use the Earth's magnetic field to show sailors which direction they are heading, helping them navigate even when visibility is poor.
He he he good question. well sailors catch food like fish and go out to sea. so basicly they dont do lots but they do something
