Scandinavia (What we now call Denmark, Norway and Sweden.)

The name Viking is a loanword from the native Scandinavian term for the Norse warriors who raided the coasts of Scandinavia, the British Isles, and other parts of Europe from the late 8th century to the 11th century. Vikings traveled to the west and Varangians, who were best known as the Varangian Guards of the Byzantine emperors, to the east. This period of European history (generally dated to AD 793 - AD 1066) is often referred to as the Viking Age.

The word "Viking" was introduced to the English language with romantic connotations in the 18th century. Today, somewhat controversially, the word is also used as a generic adjective, referring to the Viking Age Scandinavians.
Scandanavia, which includes countries like Norway, Sweden, Finland and also a lot of vikings came from Denmark.
I think it was in the region that is now Norway.
They were originally from Norway, Sweden and Denmark, but they later settled in Iceland, Greenland, Britain, Russia and even Newfoundland in Canada.

They lived In Scandnavia (now sweden). They moved away from Scandnavia because it was too crowed and they needed more space to live. So they sailed to iceland. And a person named Eric got banned fron that country so he and a few other people sailed to Greenland, Where they settled and Eric's son (Leif) moved southerned down and he spoted Labrdour and Baffin Island but never landed their. Instead they settled in Newfoundland.

Vikings were Norsemen. Resident of Scandinavia, but they travelled extensively, and thereby have a large 'fingerprint' if you will.
