The best advice you can be given is to go talk to the professionals in your life. Old Ballet mistresses and masters, people who have fitted pointe shoes for years.
It also helps to be on pointe yourself, so you know what fits you and what you can look for in other dancers to fit the same.
You can not fully understand pointe and how to fit them without an understanding of the shoes themselves, and this knowledge is obtained several ways, the two most important being a) from professionals and b) from your own experiences.
Learning from others is the most advisable. You'll learn along the way through your experiences anyway.
