Also That same year the Philadelphia Athletics in the American League had one of the worse seasons in all time Major League Baseball History!!(36 Wins With 104 Losses). Not a good year for Philadelphia.
The Second shortest game was on September 26th 1926. It's 9 innings lasted 55 Minutes and was played in the American League. Played by St. Louis(6Pts.) vs. New York(2Pts.).

As for the time (in a 9 inning game), on September 28, 1919, the New York Giants defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 6-1 in only 51 minutes.
