In 1971 Chuck Howley of the Dallas Cowboys won the Super Bowl MVP for Super Bowl V, intercepting two passes and recovering a fumble in the Cowboys 16-13 loss to the Baltimore Colts. It was the first time that a defensive player received the honor and the first and so far only time a player from the losing team won the award.
In the 1977 season the Broncos attended Super Bowl XII and played the Dallas Cowboys, but lost by a score of 27-10.

White was also a backup in Super Bowl X (1976) and Super Bowl XIII (1979), both of which the Cowboys lost to the Steelers. He did not have any playing time in any of these Super Bowls. Danny White was drafted by the Cowboys in 1974.
