The first AFL game was played in Boston at Nickerson Field (on the campus of Boston University and formerly Braves Field) on a Saturday night. Bob Dee, a Defensive End for the Patriots out of Holy Cross, scored the first AFL points when he recovered a fumble or forced a safety. The game was in early September 1960
