In terms of points scored, there was the Dallas Cowboys' almost total drubbing of the New York Giants at the Cotton Bowl on September 18, 1966. Cowboys quarterback Don Meredith tied a team record by throwing five touchdown passes -- three to Dan Reeves and a two to Bob Hayes. Overall, Meredith completed 14 passes in 24 attempts for 358 yards. At the time, the 52 points were the most scored in the history of the Cowboys.
In my humble opinion, I think the most surprising loss was the 12/06/09 loss to the New York Giants. They Giants were in the middle of a horrible losing streak, and were trying to find themselves, while the Cowboys had won 6 of their last 7 games, and were showing signs of coming together as a team.
