Ben Hogan's clubs were quite unusual at the time since when he looked at it at address it was fanned open by 5 degrees or so. Another unusual thing he did at the time was have the loft taken off by about 2 degrees or so on each club depending on the club. Here is a list to explain.

Industry Standard is the standard used during his career time and not the standard used today, since club designers today got paid a huge load of cash to have the unheard of idea to increase distance by lowering the loft. A lot of sarcasm went into that statement.
