On January 31, 1919, the legendary Jackie Robinson was born. Jackie Robinson would go on to become the first black baseball player in the major leagues. He died October 24, 1972.

April 15 has become "Jackie Robinson Day" in Major League Baseball and every player wears Robinson's No. 42 during their games.
Jackie Robinson did in fact have a father... At first. One day his dad said he wanted to visit his brother in Texas. His dad left but never came back. Jackie and his family then moved to Pasadena California. Jackie ended up joining a gang called The Pepper Street Gang. A pastor from a church decided to help Jackie become a better person. The pastor was with Jackie all through High School and even College.

Basically Martin Luther King was a famous civil rights activist and Robinson adapted to become one after his notorious baseball career.
