The hottest temperature ever recorded in an NFL game was on 19 September 1971, it was the 52nd NFL season opener and Archie Manning's NFL debut, it was located at Tulane Stadium, New Orleans, Louisiana, between the New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Rams.
AstroTurf had just been installed there, raising the temperature even higher than already supplied thanks to the New Orleans subtropical climate.
The temperatures that were recorded averaged out to 130 degrees Fahrenheit (54 degrees centigrade). The New Orleans Saints won the game against the majorly favored Rams, 24-20. Congrats to a 1-yard TD run by Archie Manning himself.
This climate was very influential in why the Saints wore their white uniform at home, leaving the away team no choice but to wear their darker jerseys allowing them to bake in the Bayou weather.

∙ 12y agoGame time temperature was 47 degrees for the NFL's longest game, the playoff game between the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs played at Kansas City Municipal Stadium in Kansas City on December 25, 1971.
Garo Yepremian of the Dolphins kicked a 37 yard field goal with 7:20 left in the 2nd overtime to give the Dolphins a 27-24 win.
