Bob Fothergill played with the Tigers between 1922-1930. He was placed on waivers in July, 1930 and selected by the Chicago White Sox where he played through the 1932 season. He was traded to the Boston Red Sox and played part of the 1933 season before being released and ultimately retiring. The Tigers, as did most teams, did not wear uniform numbers until the 1931 season, therefore, Fothergill did not have a number while playing with them. His number with the White Sox in 1931 was #35 and in 1932 was #13. His number with the Red Sox in 1933 was #13.
