There are quite a few glaciers to hike to in Glacier, but probably the most-visited glacier is Grinnell Glacier, located in the Many Glacier Valley.
Hike
The most popular trail to a glacier is the Grinnell Glacier Trail, approximately an 11 mile round-trip hike with a 1,600 foot elevation gain. The trail may be accessed from the Many Glacier Hotel or the Grinnell Glacier Trailhead. A tour boat operator also provides tours in the valley that allow hikers to shave off a couple miles of the hike. Jackson and Blackfoot Glaciers are both visible from Going-to-the-Sun Road without any hiking required, but they are several miles distant. Please keep in mind that only experienced mountaineers with proper equipment should walk on a glacier; glaciers often have deadly crevasses obscured by snowbridges. See a ranger or contact the park (406) 888-7800 for more information.
It depends of the weather a lot. The glacier is rapidly going back each year so the altitude might slightly change.
Audacious means adventurous or bold. An example of using 'audaciously' in a sentence is 'His invitation to hike the glacier was audaciously tempting'.

Mountain ranges would be the hardest landform to hike due to their steep slopes, rugged terrain, and elevation changes. The uneven terrain, unpredictable weather conditions, and potential for altitude sickness make mountain ranges difficult and challenging for hiking.
