The Minnesota Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome opened on April 3rd, 1982.
The Metrodome (originally called "Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome") was renamed "Mall of America Field at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome" in October 2009. There is a three year agreement in place for this. The renaming partnership ends on Feb. 28, 2012.
Target Field in Minneapolis is the new home of the Minnesota Twins. It is the first open-air home field for the Minneapolis Twins since they moved out of Metropolitan Stadium after the 1981 season. Minnesota played in the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome from 1982 to 2009. ----------------- In 2012, Marlins Park in Miami opened to serve the Miami Marlins baseball team, thus becoming the newest field at this point.

The gates open at Target Field 1 hour and 30 minutes before game time on Monday - Thursday games. Example: If the game is at 7:10 on any Monday - Thursday game, the gates will open at 5:40. And on weekends (Friday - Sunday) the gates open 2 hours before game time. You usually won't be able to see the Twins batting practice on week day since they start around 5, but on weekends you are there early enough to see them!
