It varies from alley to alley and night to night. Some alleys are open 24 hours. Typically, bowling alleys stay open later on Friday and Saturday nights. Hope this helps.
Open bowling is either before or after league bowling. Call ahead before going to the bowling alley.
It honestly depends where you go to bowl. I know some bowling alleys that do have windows and others that don't. You might not find a window directly next to a lane for obvious reasons, it would get expensive having to replace windows all the time if a ball hits them. Also lots of bowling alleys offer cosmic bowling with black lights and disco balls. If it was a bright day outside then there would be too much lighting for cosmic bowling. If you have any other bowling questions please let me know. I will be happy to help!

Normally the rates will differ depending on the time of day you play, the day of week you play and the location/Country. In North America, most alleys offer much cheaper rates if you bowl earlier in the day, (ex: before 4 pm) while busier times (ex: Friday/ Saturday nights) or special events (ex: cosmic bowling) will demand a higher fee. Also keep in mind that the shoe rental is an added cost on top of the lane rental.
Prices can vary depending on the day and time of day as well as the center you bowl at.
