The continent with the three of the world's largest cities is the Asian continent. In all actuality, by population, Asia is home to the four largest cities in the world. These cities are Tokyo, Japan; Guangzhou, China; Jakarta, India; and Shanghai, China. As far as population goes, Jakarta and Shanghai are tied for third.

Since the Athletics moved to Oakland, they have played in 6 World Series (1972, 1973, 1974, 1988, 1989, 1990). The only Athletics player to have hit three or more home runs in any of those six World Series was catcher Gene Tenace who hit 4 in the 1972 World Series against the Cincinnati Reds.
The Oakland Athletics single season home run record was broken by Mark McGwire. McGwire belted 57 home runs in the 1997 season. Mark McGwire also holds the all-time home run record for the Oakland Athletics, in his time as an Athletic, he hit 368 home runs. The previous record holder was Jimmie Foxx.

They also have a few other items of commonality: 1. They are large cities, both in the past & to the current day; 2. All three cities are seaports; 3. All three cities are extremely multi -ethnic; and 4. All three have international airports.
Though major cities are located on all of Japan's four main islands, the island of Honshu is home to Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Hiroshima and many others.
