13 teams have finished undefeated in regular season since the advent of the NCAA tourney, none have been national champion since the 1976 Indiana Hoosier team. Seven of 13 have won the championship. 4 that did not that I know of are 78-89 Indiana State, 78-79 Alcorn State, 91 UNLV, 2004 St Joes. I am obviously missing 2. But essentiall 7 of 12 undefeated teams that went to tourney won tourney. 78-79 Alcorn State team was not invited to the tourney. Story from last season There have been only 12 teams in NCAA major College Basketball history to go through the regular season undefeated, and seven which went undefeated all the way to becoming national champions. Those seven teams, the 1956 San Francisco Dons, the 1957 North Carolina Tarheels, The 1964, 1967, 1972, and 1973 UCLA Bruins, and the 1976 Indiana Hoosiers, are widely recognized as some of the best teams in the history of intercollegiate athletics. The 2004 version of Stanford and Saint Joseph's men's basketball squads aren't drawing those comparisons yet, but an undefeated run to a national championship in today's College Sports landscape, could definitely change some people's opinions. Rutgers 1976
the last time was 2004-2005, both auburn and Utah went undefeated. USC won the championship.
No team every team lost at least 1 game
17 teams have gone undefeated in the regular season and of those only 1 (Indiana in 1976) has gone on to win the National Championship.
One. The 1972 Miami Dolphins are the only NFL team to go undefeated in both the regular season as well as the playoffs. Four teams have had an undefeated regular season, 1924 Bears, 1942 Bears, 1972 Dolphins, 2007 Patriots. With the exception of the Dolphins, they all lost the championship game.
I don't know the actual number but I'll start off the discussion with the fact that the most recent undefeated teams were the 1975 and 1976 Indiana Hoosiers. They lost in the tourney in '75 and gave Bob Knight his first championship by going undefeated in both season and tourney in '76.
Yes, the Dolphins in 1972 went undefeated during the regular season and won the Super Bowl. The 1934 and 1942 Chicago Bears went undefeated during the regular season but lost the NFL championship game both seasons. The Patriots just finished the 2007 regular season undefeated. The question was "Was there ever and undefeated NFL Season?" If you're referring to a regular season AND championship win...there was only one...the 1972 Miami Dolphins. If you're referring to and undefeated regular season only...four teams have done this...they are: 1943 Chicago Bears 1942 Chicago Bears 1972 Miami Dolphins 2007 New England Patriots Both of the above answers are inaccurate. The first team to go undefeated through an ENTIRE NFL SEASON and win the CHAMPIONSHIP was the Green Bay Packers in 1929. Curly Lambeau was their coach. The Dolphins were the 2nd team to do it, 43 years later, without resorting to any ties (NFL had tie games in those days and the Packers had 1 tie). The Packers and Dolphins are the ONLY teams to ever accomplish an undefeated NFL Championship.
The two teams to go undefeated an entire season are Arsenal and Preston.t
Only 2 teams have ever gone undefeated. The 1974 dolphins and 07 patriots.
There are no more undefeated teams left in the National Football League during the 2010-2011 season
