But Boston won four consecutive games to win the American League pennant, and then swept the St. Louis Cardinals four games to none in the 2004 World Series.

It has happened three times in professional hockey. In the 1942 Stanley Cup Finals, the Toronto Maple Leafs overcame a 3-0 deficit to defeat the Detroit Red Wings 4-3. In the 1975 Stanley Cup quarterfinals, the New York Islanders won four games in a row to defeat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3. In the second round the 2010 NHL playoffs, the Philadephia Flyers rebounded from a 3-0 deficit and won four consecutive games to eliminate the Boston Bruins.
