Soccer is one. The 2010 FIFA World Cup is going to be held there. There are 54 countries in Africa, each with their own sporting preferences but largely soccer is the most common. In South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya there is also a strong rugby and cricket culture with both countries playing at international level. Both South Africa and Zimbabwe have been represented in the Olympics and other major international tournaments for sports such a hockey, tennis and swimming in which they have won medals.
