Hawaii's state hero, Duke Kahanamoku, was born on August 24, 1890. He was a renowned swimmer and surfer, known for popularizing the sport of surfing around the world. Kahanamoku's achievements in swimming earned him multiple Olympic medals, and he became a beloved figure in Hawaiian culture.

People all around began to surf on every continent. People called him the father of modern surfing. He died of an heart attack at the age of 66. i don't know the exact date but it was sometime in the middle ages i think, it was made as an easy sport that women would be able to do but now it is a lot tougher and more contact
