In 1996 Hans Kammerlander (who downclimbed a few snowless sections) skied it. The first uninterrupted ski descent was made by Davo Karnicar in 2000 via the standard Southeast Ridge route, and snowboard descents were made by Stefan Gatt and Marco Siffredi in 2001. Also Kit Deslauries (sp)with her husband Rob DesLauriers and friend Jimmy Chin became the first woman to ski it. I remember being amazed when I read this in a Ski Magazine. Some of the steepest sections are slightly ridiculous especially considering the risk factor. Also a movie was made about Yuichiro Miura's attempt to ski a steep portion of everest. (The Man who skied Everest).Check out some pics of Davo Karnicar here...http://www.mounteverest.net/news.php?id=10110 Also a movie was made about Yuichiro Miura's attempt to ski a steep portion of everest. Those in British Columbia Canada, in particular Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing in the Columbia Mountains with over 24 feet of snowfall.Mt. Baker ski area in Northern Washington state. They boast 647 inches annually, and in 1998-99 season they had a world record snow fall of 1,140 inches of snow!In the world? It's hard to say, because there is no central source of information for all ski areas worldwide. But we do know that the snowiest single winter on record for any place in the United States was at a ski resort: Mt. Baker in Washington, which received 1,140 inches (120 feet or 36.5 meters) of snow during the 1998-99 season. (http://www.usatoday.com/weather/news/1999/wsnorcrd.htm)

Yuichiro Miura became the first person to ski on Mount Everest on May 6, 1970. He descended nearly 4,200 vertical feet from the South Col (elevation over 8,000 m (26,000 ft)). This feat was documented in 1975, in the film The Man Who Skied Down Everest. The film won the Academy Award for best documentary, the first sports film to do so.

It has been done several times; therefore it is possible to ski on Mount Everest. As well as K2 and many other mountains. The question is: are you a good enough skier to ski on Mount Everest? And also, you got to remember that everything is skiable-- just you have a 100% chance of dying. But the mountains mentioned earlier have been done.
