There is only one mark to place on a pool table and it is found the same way regardless of table size. The foot spot needs to be marked to indicate where the apex of the racked balls must be placed.
The foot spot is located at the intersection of 2 imaginary lines. The first is along the center of the table, lengthwise, from center diamond to center diamond. The second line is between the second diamonds on each side rail. Tape a piece of string along each of these lines to be accurate. Where the 2 lines intersect, place the foot spot.

This spot is located at the intersection of 2 maginary lines - one down the center of the table, length wise. The other is the imaginary line extending between the second diamond on the rails at the foot of the table.

∙ 11y agoThe 8 foot table has a playing surface of 88 inches by 44 inches. With a 58 inch cue, a shot can be made with just a couple more inches, although not very desirable. The absolute minimum should be considered 60 inches all around. So, 120+88 = 208 inches and 120+44 = 164 inches. Converted to feet this is 17 feet 4 inches by 13 feet 8 inches. You can cheat a little by getting a 40 inch shorty stick if you cannot quite make the full area required. This can allow to be a foot closer in every direciton, but takes away from normal game play.
