To manually open the fuel cap on a 2004 Volkswagen Polo, first ensure the vehicle is turned off and then locate the fuel cap release lever inside the car, usually found on the driver's side near the floor or on the side of the dashboard. Pull the lever to release the fuel cap door. Once the door is open, twist the fuel cap counterclockwise to remove it. If the lever is unresponsive, you may need to access the fuel cap directly by pressing on the door or checking for any obstructions.

In the 1997 VW Polo, the fuel cap release is typically located inside the vehicle, on the driver's side. Look for a small lever or knob near the driver's seat, often positioned near the door or under the dashboard. Pulling this lever will release the fuel cap, allowing you to access the fuel tank. If you have trouble finding it, consult the owner's manual for specific details.
