No rights have been taken. That would be discrimination and against the law. The majority of the country sees itself as a Christian nation so that makes them the majority view. Christmas is celebrated every year for weeks, Easter is celebrated every Spring. For both holidays they are federal holidays and schools, post offices, and government services are closed. Jewish and Muslim holidays are not Federal holidays and people are often denied those days off for their religion, but Christianity has no problem with any religious beliefs or holidays.

If a person been convicted of acrime do he still have his civil rights?

Your "civil rights" are your rights under the Constiution as a citizen of this country. Certain rights are taken away after a felony conviction, but most civil rights can only be taken away if the Constitution becomes null and void. On the other hand, some would say that the Constitution is being attacked and and all of our civil rights are in danger.

What is the punishment for giving away something not yours?

That will depend on what it is (big difference between giving away an apple and giving away a car), but if you have taken possession of it and disposed of it, you've asserted the rights of ownership. And if you're not the owner and have not been granted those rights by the owner, it's theft.

What right can't be taken away?

There are not any rights that can be taken away. Rights, natural rights as distinguished from civil rights or statutory rights, are inherent in people and not preexist governments therefore governments can not grant those rights, then governments can take those rights away. When it appears that governments do, that appearance lacks the proper perspective. When governments take away the natural rights of people they did so because those people surrendered their rights. The tapestry of freedom has long since been stained with the blood of those across the world, through out history who dared stand tall and defend their rights. Untold millions of people throughout history as do today, living in substandard conditions in some prison because they dared to stand tall and fight for freedom. For those people, despite the governments best efforts, no rights were taken away, only disparaged, abrogated and derogated, but never taken away.

Did the black popes take your divine rights away?

What do you mean by "Black Pope"? There have been three popes from Africa but it is unknown if any of them were black. None of them took away any divine rights. The Father General of the Jesuits is sometimes referred to as the Black Pope, mainly by the media. He is not a pope and has never taken away anyone's divine rights.
