There has never been a quarterback who has started and won two Super Bowls for two different teams. However, four quarterbacks have won Super Bowl rings with two different teams.

  • Jim McMahon who started for the Bears in SB XX and then backed up Brett Favre but never touched the field in SB XXXI for the Packers.
  • Earl Morrall who was the starter but was pulled for Johnny Unitas in SB V for the Colts and then backed up Bob Greise in SB's VII and VIII for the Dolphins.
  • The other two QBs were third stringers or below in the Super Bowls that they appeared in. Jeff Rutledge was on the roster for the Giants and Redskins in Super Bowls XXI and XXVI and Matt Cavanaugh won with the 49ers in Super Bowl XIX and the Giants in Super Bowl XXV.
