It is hard to say when Baseball was "invented." It developed from other games such as rounders and cricket. The first baseball game, however, was played on June 19, 1846 in New York. June 19 seems to be a popular date in baseball. It is also the birthday of Lou Gehrig; in 1945 "Who's on First" first appeared and on June 19, 1972 the Curt Flood case was decided.
