A Mickey Mantle signed 8 x 10 photo sells for about $150.-$300. Price will vary based on condition, and the type of authenticity that accompanies the signature. Photo composition, and appeal will effect the price as well. Part of the value will be determined by how well the photo displays the signature. The type of ink used, and how it stands out in contrast to the photograph will also effect the price. Sharpie would be most preferred for a photo. Larger and more desired pictures could sell for more. The personal photo of Mickey Mantle with you and your family will lower the value. Collectors would prefer a signed photo of the Mick alone or with a Baseball related composition. The same goes for inscriptions. Collectors will pay more for inscription such as "536 Hrs" and pay less for personal inscription like "Good Luck Chuck" Signatures that have not been properly authenticated could sell at half the market value or less.

Mickey Charles Mantle, born October 20, 1931, in Spavinaw, Oklahoma. Named by his Father "Mutt" Mantle after Hall of Fame catcher Mickey Cochrane. When Mickey was four years old, his family moved to the nearby town of Commerce, Oklahoma.Mickey Mantle was an all-around athlete at Commerce High School, playing basketball, football, and baseball. It was football playing that nearly ended his athletic career, and his life. Kicked in the shin during a game, Mantle's leg soon became infected with osteomyelitis, a crippling disease that would have been incurable just a few years earlier. A midnight ride to Tulsa enabled Mantle to be treated with newly available penicillin, saving his leg from amputation. He would suffer from the effects of the disease for the rest of his life, and it would lead to many other injuries that hampered his accomplishments.
