According to the collector's price guide, "Team Baseballs," your mid-30's Yankees team-signed ball is worth between $800-1500, with value being greater or lower depending on exact year and players present - in particular, the inclusion or exclusion of Hall of Famers Lou Gehrig - plus all-important overall condition of the ball and Autographs. Other key factors include type of ball (is it an "Official American League" ball?), whether there are any "clubhouse signatures" (autographs signed for players by ballboys, attendants, etc), and total number of signatures present. The authenticity of the Gehrig signature is of particular importance, as he used "ghost-signers" extensively.

Yankees memorabilia is always highly collected and these factors, plus the authenticity of the all the significant signatures are the main variables in determining value.

Visit the Team Signed Baseball Price Guide link located below (Related Links). The price guide features links to full team rosters to help you figure out what year the baseballs are from. Searching for the players that played the least amount of time for the team will help you figure it out quicker. Once you have narrowed it down to one year the price guide also provides a list of key signatures for that year. These signatures are the most important on getting top value.

If the baseball feature signatures of players from different years then the baseball will be valued as a New York Yankees multi-signed baseball, and the value will be less than a given year. The key signatures on each baseball will hold the bulk of the value.

A 1963 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball with the key signatures: Berra, Mantle, Ford, Howard, and Maris is worth about $800.-$1,000.. Value is based on average prices of recently closed auctions. Prices may vary based on condition, and the type of authenticity that accompanies the baseball. Prices may also vary based on the amount of signatures, and key signatures acquired. The more complete the baseball with key signatures the more valuable. I do not have information on any recent auctions for a 1963 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. The price above might need to be up dated but should be close. Team Baseballs that feature a Roger Maris signature have been on the rise in recent years. If the signatures are not properly authenticated the baseball could sell at half the market value or less. For more information on team signed baseballs, links to full team rosters, key signatures, and price guide visit the following page from the link I left below.

Yankees memorabilia continues to be the most heavily collected amongst hobbyists, especially those items genuinely signed by Ruth. According to the collector's price guide, "Team Baseballs," your ball is worth between $1250-2000, with value being greater or lower depending on exact players present - in particular, the inclusion or exclusion of Hall of Famers Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Tony Lazzeri, among others - plus the all-important overall condition of the ball and autographs. Other key factors include type of ball (is it an "Official American League" ball?), whether there are any "clubhouse signatures" (autographs signed for players by ballboys, attendants, etc), and total number of signatures present, as well as any appropriate documentation of ownership, etc; the "provenance." The authenticity and condition of the Ruth and Gehrig signatures are of particular importance. These factors, plus the authenticity of the all the significant signatures are the main variables in determining value.

Did mickey mantle hit third or fourth?

4th Actually, Mantle batted both 3rd and 4th at various times for the Yankees. He often hit 3rd in the order after Roger Maris joined the ranks in 1960. Sometimes, Casey Stengle, hit Maris 3rd and Mantle 4th, and sometimes just the reverse. However, Mantle probably hit 4th in the Yankee's lineup most often.
