100 meter dash
Here's some quick math... Might be wrong: 9.69 seconds is the record in a 100M race 328.08 feet = 100 M 33.86ft/sec for 100M converted to mph... 23.08mph average speed.
Seriously? Some simple maths will give you your answer: 1km = 10 * 100m Swimmers take 55 secs to go 100m. Assuming their speed is constant, it would take them 10 * 55 secs to go 1km. 10 * 55 = 550, so it takes 550 secs to travel 1km. Divide this by minutes: (550/60=9.1667) which means that they swim at 9.1667km per hour.
23.2mph is his average speed over the 200m. That means he started at 0 mph and he got at some point to his top speed which is unknown and 23.2mph is his average. His top speed in the 100m race was 43.93 km/h or 27.3 mph. At the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, Bolt ran between the 60 and 80 meter marks in only 1.61 seconds which corresponds to a maximum velocity of 44.72 kilometers an hour.
No number is represented by a dash.
He ran a very, very fast 100m or 100yrd back then. :)
It depends. Some would say 100 metre squared is 100m * 100m so the side would be 100m. Others would say that 10m*10m = 100 sq metres which could be written as 100 m2. So the side should be 10 m. Sorry, but this is where loose use of the English language does not help.
Well, donovan Bailey ran the 100m in 9.84 seconds. that's 10.16 m/s. 36.59 km/h. However this is the average, not the top speed. He ran faster then that for part of his sprint and slower for other parts. If we look at top speed as being the highest speed achievable rather than over a race distance we should look at the fastest 10 metre increments in the 100 race. The top athletes are all around .83+ secs for several of the 10 metre segments. The very best can hit this speed a bit earlier in the race and/or hold on to it for a little longer but the top speeds are virtually the same at around 12mps . That's 43.2 kph or 26.85 mph. Usain Bolt probably touches 27 mph at some point
Some do, some don't.Look on the dash by the side mirror motor (left hand). There will be an overdrive disable button.Or, pop the hood. There's a sticker that lists whether it's 3 or 4 speed.
