10 foot
It's a basket. Henca why it's called basketball.
The basket or basketball hoop is made out of steel, has a circular shape and with a net attached to it. It has a precise diameter of 18 inches.
In Basketball you score by getting the ball through the centre of the hoop (ring, basket, net) and you can score from anywhere within the boundaries of the court.
10 foot 3.05metres or 10feet
8 ft is the official NBA height from the floor to the rim.
According to NBA Rule 1, Section B, Article 5: "Each basket ring shall be securely attached to the backboard with its upper edge 10 feet above and parallel to the floor and equidistant from the vertical edges of the board." The upper edge of the ring is 10 feet above the floor. The net hangs down well below the 10 foot mark.
In Professional, College and High School basketball the hoop is 10 feet from the floor.
10 feet from the floor to the top of the goal (hoop).

That would be a net, something standard on all basketball hoops. Some people prefer to use chains instead.
