The objective of the game is to be the team to score the most points between 2 teams. You score by passing for a touchdown, running for a touchdown (both offense), interception return for a touchdown(defense) fumble recovery return touchdown (defense) safety (defense, the defense sacks the quarterback or tackles the ballcarrier in their own endzone) field goal (special teams, a kicker kicks the ball through the goalposts) extra point (kicker kicks ball through goalposts after a touchdown).

Like any other team sport, the object of the game of football is to outscore your opponents. There are other related objects, however. Objectives like outgaining the opponent, forcing the opponent to punt the ball, and not giving up 'the big play' are all objects of the game of football that help a team win.

The object of the game is to get as many points as possible, and have the other team with the least amount of points. There are 2 spots you can shoot from on the court. There is a "rainbow" shaped line, that if the ball is shot from beyond that line, it counts as 3 points. Anywhere inside of that line counts as 2 points. If another player makes hard contact with the other team member, it is a foul. If someone is shooting and is fouled, they get to shoot from the straight line with the circle around it, called the free throw line. There are 4 quarters in the game, and each player is allowed to have 6 fouls per game (in college, you get 5). You can also have 2 technical fouls. If you reach 6 fouls, and 2 technical fouls, you are ejected from the game, and cannot play until the next game. Hope this helped you. This is just a brief description. Remember Miami Sucks, Boston sucks, GO LAKERS!!!!

The object, as in all sporting events, is to win. The win condition is to score more "runs" than the opponent. A run is scored by a player crossing home plate (after at some point in the turn having touched first, second, and third bases).

The true object, from a fan point of view? Drink beer in the sunshine and watch men run around and scratch their balls.

According to comedian George Carlin, and I quote this because he wrote/performed it:

"In football the object is for the quarterback, also known as the field general, to be on target with his aerial assault, riddling the defense by hitting his receivers with deadly accuracy in spite of the blitz, even if he has to use shotgun. With short bullet passes and long bombs, he marches his troops into enemy territory, balancing this aerial assault with a sustained ground attack that punches holes in the forward wall of the enemy's defensive line."
