The Patriots former stadium has gone by several names: * Foxboro Stadium 1989-2002 * Sullivan Stadium 1983-1989 * Schaefer Stadium 1971-1983 Foxboro Stadium opened August 15, 1971 and the final game was played January 19, 2001. The stadium was replaced by Gillette Stadium, which opened in 2002. Foxboro Stadium was demolished in 2002.
