∙ 11y agoAustralian Rules Football- commonly called Aussie Rules, AFL (for Australian Football League) or just footy, is played on cricket ovals which do not have a standard size. There will be two arcs coming from the goalposts measuring 50 metres and in between these is a centre square measuring 50 metres. Usually there will be extra space in between these depending on the size of the oval so a field would be >150 metres, however sometimes (for instance at the Sydney Cricket Ground) the centre square shaves a few metres off the 50 metre lines making a total field length just under 150 metres.

∙ 12y agoThere is no specified size requirement for an Australian Football field. Australian Rules was originally created to keep cricket players fit in the off season and cricket fields do not have size requirements hence why Australian Rules fields do not have size requirements.
